Uncharted Worlds

I haven't done a spacescape in awhile, so it was nice to have a change of scenery. I've been working on my piece for the TS pack, dunno if it'll be selected or not, but it's coming along pretty nice. About this piece though, it's actually pretty good for how long I spent on it. I only spent about not even a day on it, so for that it looks pretty good. The only thing that I don't exactly like is the texture in the back, I feel like it shouldn't be so rough, but it does go pretty well with the scene, so I left it. Also those freakin render lines, I hate those things!

And yes, i'm still in the learning stages of making an upclose planet, so I used *Baro's tutorial. I need a better computer. :( 512mb ram is murder!

Oh well, adios...

Shuttle - *Peace-of-Art

Edit: Just some little additions to the piece. Fixed the trails of the larger shuttle, added clouds to the 2 other planets, and some other things. I think it looks better. :)

hey, the nebula and the closeup planet are great, on the smal planet there is some strange aliasing, the bigger planet could use some more details ;)

Seriously man, why are you sittin with 512 rams? What computer specs do you got? Since rams nowdays are a bargin!

The piece, I like it. The nebula perhaps could've had some uplit parts or such but it's all good.
Only thing I can feel is a bit negative is the trails from the space ship, it doesn't work with the piece.

About those render lines (which occur fuckin whatever you do!!!!), just get some blurr going on it and they're gone.

Yeah I agree about adding highlights to some area's around the nebula, and I know about the trails too, don't know what I thinking when I did that..

Thanks for the tip on the render lines, I appreciate the comment as well man :)

I really like this, just add a bit more perspective to the close planet.

I'm not sure about the darkness. A nebula/sun that bright would brighten the planets much more. Because it is too dark, I feel like this piece is kinda 'insecure'. It might not be that there is too little brightness, but the shadows of the planet seem very layback. Shadows don't stretch that long. The line where light no longer touches the planet is sharper and less gradual.

512 mb ram really is murder :XD: I have 1GB ram and it's still not good enough.

Well I love this piece, the colors are very appealing, details of nebula and planets are amazing. Really blows me away. Awesome job as usual!

I render my planet textures in 3DSM (except for the upclose planet), just because I am unable to do so in photoshop. But everything else I do in photoshop.
