I have only been doing horizontal pieces lately, so it was very nice to work with a different type of canvas. It actually gave me different ideas that I couldn't have done with a widescreen type piece. Anyway, I haven't been doing very many space pieces -- or any pieces lately, so I wanted to jump back on the bandwagon and see if I still had it. I guess I do...
Wow, those subtle details just blow me away. I'm actually not a fan of the texture you used on the nearer planet because I feel that the feature scale is a bit too small in certain areas, but overall this is a great piece.

Nameless Designer pointed out that it had no atmosphere, Not sure if that was just mistakenly "left out" But I actually think it looks better without one. I can only assume this would be a Mars-like planet since it looks small, and if you look at NASA photo's of Mars, theres hardly any brilliant glowing atmophere around it anyway. bright Atmospheres are more dramatic, but very weaks ones make it look more realistic.
Oh, and I like those subtle dust rings around the star, looks like more planets are being cooked up
