Another matte paint bit the dust. My computer doesn't want to get along with cs4, but that's ok. Really disappointed right now, I had high hopes for this matte, and now it's gone with only this to show for it. The base plate was rendered with vue and the mountain on the left side is a stock, not sure where I got it though, if anybody recognizes it, let me know.

The story behind it was to have kids with their flashlights and what not walk toward the cave where a so-called monster lives. That's all I came up with at the time, at the time I just wanted to get the exterior scenery done with.

This is getting old, but oh well right? Just gotta move on to the next one... at least i'm getting better right?

No crits please, oh and pray for my computer, it's about to be in pieces... cheerios

Your'e not the first to complain about CS4 frequently crashing, I'm starting to think Adobe just wanted to get another product out the door to feed their cash cow, I'm glad I'm using CS3 for now :boogie: I already have Vue to do the crashing for me  (granted it dosn't crash as much anymore after I got a better laptop, Vue is a very volatile program, but that's forgivvable given how much power it has )

Nice job, love the atmosphere and mood, I do notice you do a lot of dark scenes, if you wnat to better yourself, you can't mask up flaws in dark shadows forever, your'e gonna have to do a bright daytime scene some day :evillaugh:

Yeah, I didn't really have a problem with CS4 until my computer crashed big about a month and a half ago. Since then nothing as worked perfectly since, but as long as I can keep making art, it doesn't bother me much. As far as using CS4, I love it, the new features are amazing, but I won't risk my art for new gadgets. Oh well, time to go back to CS3 I suppose.

And as far as hiding flaws, not quite sure what that's all about, I know what you mean, but when have I given a reason for me to hide anything in my art? Not mad or anything, just curious, maybe I can adjust whatever i'm doing. But anyway, I love sunsets and high contrasted scenes, so that's what I do mostly. But i'll venture out of my realm a little bit and do some daytime scenes for a while maybe, it certainly can't hurt. ;)

Oh yeah, I wrote that the wrong way, it's hard to even get flaws when Vue is involved =p but what I mean is that highly contrasted scenes with a lot of shadow (cool as they are 8-)) are relatively easy when compared to brighter scenes or those with a more natural contrast amount...but that could just be your style, others like =Phoenix-06 seem pretty successful doing the same sort of style anyway ;p

To be honest, I never really noticed much, but i'm glad you pointed that out cause i've been looking for something to do since about 5 hours ago :P

Nothing wrong with breaking out of your comfort zone either
